Cryolite Mineral Data
Cryolite Mineral Data
Cryolite, also known as sodium hexafluoroaluminate (Na3AlF6), is a rare mineral primarily used in the aluminum industry. Despite being called a mineral, it's seldom found in nature today, initially mined in Greenland primarily. The notable properties of Cryolite make it a valuable flux in aluminum refining, reducing energy consumption and helping in the electrolysis of alumina.
