Films for labels
Films for labels
What are label films?
Labels are used to identify a wide variety of items. Self-adhesive label films are therefore a very common solution for labelling in the packaging sector, industrial labels, security labels as well as numerous other applications.
Firsta supply professional and honest service.
The König Film Centre does not offer self-adhesive films. However, we do have various high-quality technical films with special properties in our range, which are used as base films for labels with special characteristics. For this purpose, our films must be made self-adhesive (by using double-sided adhesive films) and can then be used as labels.
Standard label films, which are characterised by high quantities and low prices, are not our focus. Rather, we offer films with special properties, such as high temperature stability, which are relevant for particularly high-performance labels.
What material are films for labels made of?
We offer technical films made of various plastic materials that are suitable for the production of labels:
- Polycarbonate films.
- PMMA films.
- Polyester (PET) films.
- PEI films.
- PBT-PC films.
As a specialist for technical films, we will be happy to advise you on the selection of the right film for your industrial project. We are also happy to assist you in selecting the necessary accessories for professional processing. For this purpose, we provide you with technical data sheets and safety data sheets of our products. For initial tests or the production of first prototypes, we will gladly send you samples.
Properties of label material
The most important property of any label film is its constant, good and high-quality printability. A label is used to identify goods and in many cases is intended for promotional purposes. For this purpose, labels are printed elaborately using photos, images, colours and other design elements.
The most common printing process for technical films is screen printing. But besides this classic printing process, there are also other and new printing processes. Digital printing in particular has gained a lot of importance in recent years.
Our technical films are suitable for the following printing processes:
- Screen printing
- Digital printing
- Direct printing
- UV printing
- Laser printing
- Flexo printing
- Offset printing
Almost all of our technical films can be printed well. However, depending on the type of film, a test print is recommended.
Our range of label material:
We offer some technical films with special properties that can be interesting and relevant for the production of label films:
Biaxially oriented polyester (PET) films with high durability.
Biaxially oriented PET films (so-called BOPET films) have excellent chemical, mechanical and thermal stability and resistance. They also have good tensile strength and tear resistance as well as excellent transparency. PET films are good electrical insulators, have low moisture absorption and high dielectric strength. With a printing pre-treatment, most of our polyester films can be printed well, consistently and homogeneously.
Polyester films are a universal material for labels with a high resistance to various external influences such as chemicals and are therefore often used for this application.
Polycarbonate films for increased continuous use temperature
Polycarbonate films are temperature resistant and suitable for a continuous use temperature of 105 degrees Celsius. In the short term, they are resistant to temperatures of up to 160 degrees Celsius. Above a temperature range of 190 - 200 degrees Celsius, they become thermo-elastic (thermoforming).
Polycarbonate films are available in a wide range of thicknesses and surfaces from glossy to matt in fine matt and velvet matt effects. They thus cover a wide range of applications and are very often used as label films for heat-resistant requirements.
UL listed films for industry.
Some industrial applications - especially in electrical engineering - require flame-retardant labels that comply with certain fire protection classes. There are different approvals and fire protection classes that vary from country to country. Since many prefabricated parts are used worldwide, the American standard UL 94 V0 has become the standard for flame protection in the industry.
We offer flame-retardant products for the manufacture of labels made of various materials. These are flame retardant films made of polycarbonate, PEI and PBT with consistent insulation properties and good printability.
PMMA film for outdoor labels.
PMMA film of the Plexiglas brand is extremely UV-stable and weatherproof. Due to the addition of the plastic polybutyl acrylate (PBA) as an impact modifier, PMMA films are easy to cut and can also be processed by laser. This film material is particularly suitable for outdoor applications where they are exposed to UV radiation, weather and other environmental influences. Therefore, PMMA film is of interest for weatherproof special labels with high UV stability for outdoor use.
Sustainable film.
Sustainability is a crucial issue in our current times. The reduction of CO2 and the search for environmentally friendly materials occupy most industrial manufacturers. There are also sustainable base films for labels, some of which are made from corn starch and are therefore more CO2 effective.
We offer you a polycarbonate film based on corn starch and can offer you and your company a more environmentally friendly alternative. By using sustainable films, there are numerous advantages for industrial applications. They offer an optimal solution for many applications such as labels for industrial packaging.

Factors To Be Consider Before Choosing A Good Packaging
Packaging is either product packaging, cosmetic products packaging, food packaging, gadgets packaging, or textile packaging, has to have an objective. Pause for a moment to recall the last product you purchased. Maybe it was something to consume, drink, apply, or wear? Could you tell me what notion the products packaging gives you since you get it in your mind? What thought pops up first? Do you consider its safety, layout, or appearance? Or perhaps its partial job as a wrapper of its items? All household products have in common is that they all appear in some form of packing using BOPP, BOPET, Nylon film, BOPA, Aluminum Foil, Polypropylene, etc. Packaging serves a variety of functions. To mention some, involving providing stability, safety, improved usage, appealing appearances, creative design, and personalized criteria. What is frequently seen with packing, however, is a single-use function. The packaging exists only to serve a single purpose. It is either ripped away for using the containing product, or it is discarded after the packing goods are emptied. The outcome is the same. Its just there for a short time.
There is no denying that packaging waste is already a worldwide issue. Our single-use behavior has dramatically expanded the range of packaging trash generated by each individual regularly, weekly, monthly, and yearly. Plastic, a packaging film, leads to environmental pollution by contaminating natural landscapes, degrading into microscopic microplastics, and eventually reaching the oceans and marine life.
Todays packaging products from China Bopet Film have brief lifetimes but long-lasting effects. Higher production circularity reduces the quantity of single-use packing while also lengthening the life cycle of the materials. The following are the most significant reasons why packing is crucial.
1. Protection
The fundamental function of packing is to preserve its goods from possible damage during transportation, management, and storage. BOPET packaging protects the goods along its entire logistical chain, from producer to end consumer. It shields the product from moisture, light, temperature, and other environmental variables. This is the primary function of packing. As a result, it is not uncommon to finish with significantly more packaging than original products. The proportion of packing trash that a product generates might be deeply shocking. Overall, the objective of packaging is to preserve, but there is a distinction between creative and uniquely designed packing and packaging that is not fit-for-purpose.
2. Invulnerability
Foremost, the packaging is vital in maintaining its goods and customers safe. Packaging should include crucial information about the product and its sustainability. For food items, the producing date, expiration date, and nutritional information should be displayed on the package. No toxic chemical, odor, or taste should be transferred from packaging films to food, whether they are made of new or recycled material. Furthermore, if it contains any toxic compounds, it should mention on the packaging. All of this information contributes to the products reliability for the consumers. It is still preferable to have enough info than not enough information.
3. Captivation
Packaging is an essential component of product branding and marketing. An alluring packaging can boost the uniqueness of a product and hence influence the inclination to buy it. Packaging from the BOPET film manufacturer is just as crucial as the product. Its objective is to shine out from the shelves or online, increase sales, deliver relevant product information, and attract more people. Two-thirds of individuals think packaging influences their purchasing decisions. A products packing can also give a complete story about the manufacturer companies, and the business activities on the environment, sociological, and economic implications. It is a tool for communicating the companys ideals and the numerous advantages that the product provides to the consumer.
4. User-friendliness
Consumers want packaging that is appropriate for the product. They want highly functional life-saving packaging that is quite user-friendly. Customers are the only ones who rate the utility of the BOPET packages. Some customers will be satisfied if the package is easily accessible and seal, convenient to wrap and sort after use, and can even be reused or recycled. Furthermore, a good design improves usability. Todays package compatibility trend is shifting away from single-use culture and toward buying things in larger quantities, in reusable containers, and their container, as it was before the s. Consumers that care for the environment regularly carry their own emptied jars, bags, and boxes to the grocery store. As a result, one major problem persists in packaging effectiveness. How many times can the package be reused, and is it as simplistic as the buyer desires?
5. Sustainability
Before the selection of goods, many consumers consider the reusability and degradability of packing materials. The more favorable the perception of eco-friendly packaging, the greater the influence on sales figures. The packaging design is crucial in understanding how simple it is to distinguish the elements from one another, and hence how easy it is to reuse the containers. Manufacturing more with less not only eliminates the expense and resources, but it also offers less stuff for the shoppers to efficiently manage.
Consumers are becoming more aware of the long-term environmental consequences. Before purchasing a product, they consider the impact on the environment of the pack. The tag on the package that provides a detailed understanding of the environmental consequences and reusability of the product and packaging will undoubtedly capture the consumers attention.
A quality package product is suitable, protects its goods, conserves resources, and reduces carbon emission by employing an energy-efficient manufacturing process and sourcing raw materials from sustainable sources. To meet this criterion, we must not overlook the necessity of design optimization, user-friendliness, and an efficient cycle to develop the ideal environmentally preferable packaging. Many critical functions are served by product packaging. Packaging is required for a wide range of products. As a result, more inventive, recyclable, and sustainable packaging should be developed. That should be the present course of action.
