RaySense Fiber Optic Perimeter Fence Security System

RaySense Fiber Optic Sensing Principle of Detection

Perimeter Intrusion Detection Systems are critical for identifying unauthorized attempts to breach secure boundaries. The RaySense system, one of the market's most advanced, offers comprehensive perimeter coverage without gaps, ideal for long-range monitoring applications. With RaySense, the fiber optic cable itself acts as the sensor, providing 100% coverage.

RaySense is a highly sensitive vibration acoustic sensor utilizing single-mode fiber optic cables. Employing distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) and distributed vibration sensing (DVS) technologies, it can monitor fiber optics for various applications. The sensitivity of the cable to pressure, acoustics, and motion allows it to detect vibrations through fences, soil, or surfaces. This system not only identifies intrusion events but also pinpoints their locations and classifies them using sophisticated detection algorithms.

The RaySense fiber-optic intrusion detection system can cover distances from 5 to 100 km (3 to 62 miles) using a single fiber-optic cable. It can detect and locate intrusions within a range of 3-20 meters (10-60 feet) along the entire perimeter. To expand coverage, the system supports the integration of additional network controllers, offering virtually unlimited monitoring capabilities.

Security Applications

CEL's Fiber Optic sensors are widely used in security applications to manage arrays of cameras and other monitoring devices, as well as to detect perimeter intrusions. These sensors are passive, require no power, and are immune to electromagnetic interference (EMI). They are known for their long-term accuracy and reliable data collection. A single system can simultaneously monitor multiple applications, including equipment wear, operational efficiency, leak detection, and security. Multiple sensors can be installed on a single fiber and networked into one monitoring unit, significantly reducing cabling and equipment costs.
