A 393 rebar mesh is used heavy-duty reinforcement of concrete elements, including slabs and walls. Flat sheets are used in the construction of driveways, building floors, and foundation slabs.

A393 mesh dimensions and sheet size?

Standard sheets of A393 mesh are 4.8 metres by 2.4 metres. However, it is also possible to spec Merchant sized sheets (at 3.6 metres by 2.0 metres), and what if often referred to as &#;Safety Size&#; sheets, which are 2.4 metres by 1.2 metres. You can also order bespoke sheet sizes to your schedule/requirements.

Lap length for A393 mesh of standard size sheets should be at least 400mm on each side*. Eurocode 2 states that lap length should be staggered so as not to create a large zone of discontinuity that could potentially lead to member failure. *This figure is purely a suggestion and all overlap calculations should be made by a qualified structural or civil engineer.
