First project - Dining chairs - Vinyl or Leather?

At the moment, I'm gearing up to reupholster my dining chairs. As shown in the photos, the current vinyl has reached the end of its lifespan. I've resorted to using packing tape to hold it together temporarily while I decide on a replacement material.

I'm leaning towards leather for the reupholstering because of its durability, longevity, and aesthetic appeal. Nonetheless, vinyl is a more economical option.
